In 2010, Hanabi! Project was created with the idea that, as a Hello! Project dubbing project, it would be all about family and fun. The Leader, Kerri, wanted to create a project with fellow Wakusei! Project members, and make something of her own. In April of the same year, Hanabi! Project began, and it steadily grew in member size and diversity of voices, and became the baby of Kerri. This was her beloved Project, and she loved it dearly.
In 2013-2014 however, the Project began to wane in activity. There were plenty of members, but, not enough time or dedication to get out singles, so in the end, the group became inactive and, for a period of time, Kerri thought to graduate the project entirely and give up on Hanabi ever becoming active again. For over a year, Hanabi did not update, nor did Kerri feel it would be right to bring the Project back to life.
Fast forward to July 2015. Kerri, after contemplating, looking back at the Project she had dearly loved, as well as her passion for dubbing returning, made a decision at 3am in the Morning: She would revive Hanabi! Project, however they would start anew: New groups, a new forum, and she would only do so with a few of the members who had been a part of Hanabi the previous year, before the project had become inactive.
Through this decision, Kerri chose to start again; they would be Survivors, and they would begin as the 1.5th Generation. She would learn from her previous mistakes, and she would work hard with everyone to rebuild Hanabi, turning over a new leaf and renewing what she had loved.
Hanabi! Project survives. Instead of returning, though, it is reviving.
